Since September 2022, when Colorado began accepting crypto for tax payments, only a negligible amount has been received. Out of $11 billion collected in income tax, just over $57,000 has been paid using crypto. In 2022, only eight payments totaling $16,426 were made, rising to 22 payments worth $23,241 in 2023, before declining again in 2024 to $17,544 from 48 payments. Colorado was the first state to adopt this innovation under Governor Jared Polis.
